We provide caseworkers at VA facilities $50 pre-paid debit cards which are distributed at their discretion. Most locations receive a minimum of 20 cards every month. They are used for things like diapers, food, and transportation to bridge the financial gap.
On average 25% of funds distributed monthly go toward utility related expenses. Electric, water, gas bills are paid directly to the vendor on behalf of the Veteran and family.
Nearly 54% monthly on assistance for housing related expenses. We pay for permanent and temporary housing, first/last and security deposits, insurance and mortgage payments as well as repairs when necessary.
We are assisting an average of 200 people monthly via referrals from the Veteran Administration network in Florida.
Nearly 20% monthly goes toward auto related expenses; car payments and repairs, insurance and licenses.
My family and I had fallen on hard times to say the least. I had lost my job and we were in danger of loosing our home as well as having trouble keeping the children’s belly’s full. Wounded Warriors of South Florida came to the rescue to put it mildly. Mr. Howard, without blinking an eye, took care of the bills I had defaulted on and saved what could have been the last Christmas with “Santa” for my children. I cannot Thank You guys enough for without your generosity and kindness I know there would be thousands of Veterans like myself living on the street. The work that you do is more than just helping Veterans, it is work from the Soul that moves mountains for those of us that are in our most desperate hour. Thank You Wounded Warriors of South Florida for everything you have done for us.

My family and I want to thank you so much for everything you have done for us. Sometimes we think that we have everything planed or figured out, we don’t. I really don’t know where we would be right now. Thank you, I know that there are still good people that really care for our wounded soldiers.

My family and I want to thank you so much for all the help that we received. I retired just a month ago, I thought I had everything figured out but I was wrong. My wife, 4 daughters and I find ourselves homeless. We rented a house online but it end up being a scam, we got robbed for almost 1600.00 dollars. I went to the VA talked to my social worker about the situation and she contacted the Wounded Warriors of South Florida.
Mr. Howard called me right away and without knowing me or my family paid for 2 weeks for us to stay in a hotel until I received my first pay check from the VA. Thank you so much for what you do, Veterans like myself somethings think that we are alone, but we are not, we still have great people such as yourselves out there.
